Orangeries combine the large glazed areas of a conservatory with the solid walls of a traditional brick extension. Built using a series of pillars and a dwarf wall; orangeries create an extended living area which will feel like a seamless addition to your home. Comprehensive hardwareThe inside of an orangery incorporates sections of plastered walls and ceilings with large glazed areas. The plastered perimeter ceiling can incorporate downlights or even integrated speakers to create a warm and homely atmosphere. An orangery usually features a stylish lantern roof that can accommodate skylights for improved ventilation and lighting. Outside, an orangery’s brickwork can be sourced to match the property’s original brickwork for an attractive uniform look. Stylish and functional, orangeries are now a popular extension solution for homeowners across the UK.
Traditionally, the key difference between a conservatory and an orangery is the quantity of glass used in the structure. As conservatories were fully glazed structures with a low brick base wall and orangeries were grand brick structures with glazed roofs.
Traditionally speaking, the main difference is that conservatories are fully glazed structures, with large quantities of glass supported by a low brick base. Orangeries, however, use less glass and more brick. They’re a stylish form of extension that gives the appearance of permanence. They often have roof lanterns fitted into the roof.

Techniglaze orangeries are fitted with high quality Fab & Fix or From the Anvil hardware. From traditional tear drop and monkey tail handles and stays for the windows, to stylish D handles and fixed lever handles for the entrance door; there’s sure to be the perfect hardware for any home. Choose from a range of finishes including polished brass, polished chrome, and classic cast iron to tastefully complement your choice of conservatory style.
Techniglaze orangeries are glazed with high performance glass from either Pilkington, Guardian, or Saint Gobain. Each of these companies supply a wide range of glazing options including energy efficient glass, self-cleaning glass, anti-condensation glass, and textured and obscure glass. All our glazing meets stringent Building Regulations requirements for security, safety, and energy efficiency.

We are delighted with the windows. As you know we were concerned that they would look different and more “clunky” but really you can’t tell the difference except that the new ones are not falling apart!!! The guys who did the fitting were also good. They were working in freezing fog, really cold but they carried on regardless, they were extremely tidy and cleared up after themselves.
